Promo info #1

New to Cyberpunk: A Life on the Edge?

A Life on the Edge is a Cyberpunk LARP from Team Nova focused on action.

On the edge of The City, a group of Operators gather at the Cybar. They try and scrape a living without coming to the attention of the MegaCorporations all around. The Cybar is the perfect place for this: Adam the proprietor somehow keeps it off the corporate radar and there you can meet likeminded individuals. Fixers go there to hand out jobs and nobody asks too many questions.

So we can have gunfights that work, we use UKLTA’s safe and proven LaserTag combat system.

Everybody is tooled up but the Cybar is under a pax. Start trouble there and you might find more than you bargained for.

We’ve been running as short events during UKLTA ‘anthology’ weekends and now we’re running our first full event.

With the Operators’ old nemesis WarCrimes dead they’re looking to start afresh with the new alliances they built to defeat him.

Been playing with us all along?

  • This event is set six weeks after the death of WarCrimes and the defeat of Maelstrom
  • The Cybar has been rebuilt and Adam is back behind the bar
  • Most territory formerly belonging to Maelstrom has been taken over by the Faceless
  • The evil RipperDoc that imprisoned Emma Pendleton in a drone shell is being hunted
  • With reported incidents of Cyberpsychosis on the rise, violence is spreading across The City
  • The Inquisition are stepping up their defence of general citizens against crime and violence and gaining support as a result
  • Also, just what did happen to that military Speedware WarCrimes was strutting around with?

New logo. Who dis?

New year, new logo

The old game logo was a bit to reminiscent of something else, so one of our friends came up with this for us to use going forwards. We think it's spanking gorgeous.

Game #8 planning weekend

Game #8 planning weekend

Most of Team Nova got together and planned things out somewhat for the game this weekend. We're still 48 weeks from the event and we actually started planning back in June over a year in advance but one thing we as a group have actually been good at is "little and often" planning to deliver the previous games.

This is our first full weekend event and our tendency to create more content than the players can realistically tackle, with redundant jobs/threads, means there's going to be a lot of stuff in the pot. This small wall of post-its is the first run at a high level "things that need to get done", to which more will be added.

Weekend event 2026

Following game #7 at Dropzone 2025, we're proud to announce that Cyberpunk: A Life on the Edge will be returning for a full weekend October 2-4 2026.

This will be our first full weekend and we're looking forward to using this new format to tell a more self-contained story.

Game #7 - WarCrimes must die!

WarCrimes must die!

Still with nowhere to work from safely, with the help of some infiltration by Spike, the Operators took over a Maelstrom RipperDoc as a base to work from.

They needed cash too, so Orphan and Medusa finally pulled off the Bank Job they’ve been planning for some time, with a little help from one-person celebrity distraction squad, GoGo.

With Eddies in their pocket and refreshed thanks to the gear stolen from Maelstrom they plotted their revenge.

A motley crew of allies were recruited for the fight with Maelstrom. Blackbeard’s Boys, who already had beef with them were eager to act as a distraction. Then The Faceless agreed to do the same, for a price, which most of the Operators have yet to ask about.

Most unlikely of all, The Inquisition told The Operators how to disrupt Maelstrom's comms when the time was right so WarCrimes couldn't call for aid. A targeted strike on the Social Platform Free.me was carried out, again with the help of one of its stars, the ever so distracting GoGo.

WarCrimes' ace card, his SpeedWare, ended up being his downfall. A raid on a Militech compound allowed them to use its tracking ID and the Operators waited until he was back within their reach to strike.

Now the Cybar is reclaimed and Adam back in charge but needs to be rebuilt, better than ever!

Even with all this going on, our more Corporate players had dealings with Carlos DeVega and found he was responsible for the awful fate of Emma Pendleton: she is now a mental slave in one of DeVega's drones-for-hire. Though they have never met her, some of the Operators have sworn bloody revenge for this.
