How do I book?
Booking is from the UKLTA store. You must be a member of the UKLTA to attend the event, but if you are new to us that membership is currently free.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are covered by the LARP insurance policy administrated by the LRP Alliance, our certificate (showing the named game organisers) is available on request, at least one of these is on the GM team for this LARP.
Do you have a Social Charter covering this game?
Yes, we do, and it can be found on the UKLTA website.
Communication
When you book we'll ask you for your comms preferences, we're aware people all work differently, and this route will be used for direct communication for things like character generation or any high importance announcements.
For run-of-the-mill information sharing we'll be using the UKLTA Facebook Group and Discord.
GDPR/Data Collection
This game is covered by the UKLTA GDPR & Privacy policy that can be found here.
What is the UKLTA?
This is the umbrella organisation for the Laser-Tag LARP hobby in the UK and arranges the LRP Alliance insurance cover for this and other games. To attend this game you must be a member of the UKLTA. We currently offer complementary membership to new attendees. The Acronym stands for United Kingdom Laser-Tag Alliance and was formed in the late 00s as an umbrella organisation replacing the club structure that had existed prior.
Site map and general information

Next to the Marquee is a private house where people live. They are used to people being on-site for events but if you're in the Marquee or near the house gardens after 22:00 please be quiet and considerate.
We'll be using the Marquee as the 'Cybar' location in-game and we're aware this would be difficult so we are planning for most play to be happening in the main IC area on Saturday night.
What facilities are available on-site?
There is a gender-neutral toilet block with four fully enclosed stalls, two of which also have showers. There are three washbasins and mirrors above them in a common shared area.
These facilities are quite basic to look at but do work. As a septic tank is used for sewage, please do not flush anything beyond human waste and toilet paper down the toilets. If you are using face paint etc., please be considerate and ensure you clean up after yourself.
Outside the toilet block is a sink for washing up any cooking pans/utensils and filling water bottles etc.
There is another toilet available in the Café during its opening hours.
If you urgently need to charge devices there is mains power in the Crew Hut and the Marquee but there are a limited number of sockets, and this is not close to where you are camped so we advise having USB power banks etc. enough to be self-sufficient for the duration of the weekend.
Accessibility
This event takes place in woods outdoors in day and at night. The venue has been assessed as suitable for the 'ambulatory disabled' as it has a few accessibility challenges somebody in a wheelchair would face.
- There are two steps up into the main toilets.
- The main toilet cubicles are moderately small.
- There are two steps up into the 'crew hut'.
- There is a small step inside the café down into the area where the tables are and from which you gain access to the toilet.
- There are three steps down into the Marquee.
- Some of the buildings in the in-character area have narrow staircases and an upper level. These are not essential to play.
The site has ramps that can be used in the out of character areas (e.g. the toilets) but they are not in place as a matter of course. Please contact us if you think you will need them.
Having said this, the in-character area of the site is relatively flat and shouldn’t present any undue physical challenges to those with reduced mobility if they can get about with sticks and we have several members that use them. It is a comparatively small area for an outdoor LARP.
Those with no mobility issues should still bear in mind you will be outdoors on rough and uneven ground for extended periods with an amount of walking from one area to another and limited places to sit.
Much of the site is light woodland but all the major play areas have open paths between them. Most characters will be able to stick to the paths and buildings most of the time. During Combat situations, there may be some sneaking through the woodland, but this will not be all the time.
You should dress appropriately to the time of year with a sturdy set of footwear. There are some areas that could be slippery if it rains. In all but the driest weather the 'bottom' of the in-character area of the site furthest from the entrance can be slightly boggy but we'll check this. We will conduct a risk assessment of the site prior to the game and any hazards will be highlighted during the initial safety briefing.
For safety reasons, we require everybody who attends to carry both a torch and an effective whistle while on-site. This is so that you can find your way after dark and summon help if you need it.
All reasonable efforts will be made to enable players/crew of all abilities to attend and participate. Please contact us if you want to ask about this or require something we may not have thought of.
How do I reach the site by public transport?
Berkswell is the nearest train station which is a good 15 minute walk from the site. Compared to a lot of LARP sites this is pretty good but that's still a long way to carry more than a trivial amount of kit. There are buses (88A) that help with the journey but not on Sundays. We can't lay on a minibus service but will try to matchmake people with a lift to/from the station and if you require this please indicate it on the Participant Information Form you receive after booking.
If I arrive by car/van where should I park?
On arrival you are fine to drive your vehicle carefully onto the camping field to unload, but please be aware the ground can be soft and uneven. Once unloaded please move your vehicle back to the car park.
There is a farm style gate on the road leading to the bulk of the site, please close it after you have driven through.
Can I bring a camper van or caravan?
Yes, but you should park it in the main car park. The turn into the car park is quite tight.
Is there on-site catering?
Near the car park is a Café that will be open some of the day, usually morning through to late afternoon. We will list the opening times nearer the event (in the final event briefing) once we have them. It sells mostly light snacks such as toasted sandwiches, sweets, crisps and hot & cold drinks.
There is also an option to purchase catering for the whole weekend directly from The Grange (
as Sidekick Games), Hearts and Minds is ‘UKLTA E4’. Any dietary requirements should be communicated to them at info@grangelivetv.com.
Can I cook my own food?
There is no on-site kitchen for player/crew use but the use of your own camping stoves in the camping area is permitted.
Are there bunks on site?
No, this is a camping event so you will need to bring your tent or find alternative accommodation off site. The nearest hotel is roughly 1 mile away which is a short drive along roads that mostly have foot paths.
Can I have a campfire?
The only place open fires are allowed is the Fire Pit area at the back of the camping field. In common with most UKLTA events we will most likely have a social meetup at the Fire Pit after the end of play on Friday and Saturday night.
